Day 4: Thur July 7 Barkerville Cemetery & Bear Lake

This morning we hiked a very muddy and wet trail from our Lowhee campsite to the Barkerville Cemetary. It was about an hour and a half round trip through some very pretty forest trails. Saw deer tracks along the way and surprised a grouse who led us away from her nest.

The cemetery was pretty neat... Graves from the 1870's and many of the people were in their 30's and 40's. We explored and had a snack before heading back to camp to clean up and get ready to hit the road again.

1pm we left Lowhee and stopped at the Barkerville Husky station for more gas (148L. $167) and a coffee.

We drove through a massive rain and thunder storm going through Prince George. It was insane the amount of water coming from the sky. Equally crazy was some of the heavy road works happening on the side of the highway... Huge excavators working on the very brink of a steep embankment. Yikes.

Made it to Crooked River campground in time for a play at the awesome little playground and dinner. Walked down the path to explore Bear Lake and look for sticks and rocks. Ollie found a fun stick with two pinecones that looked like a moustache.
