Woke up to the stunning view of Muncho Lake's cool blue waters. This is my favourite camping spot so far.
Jonathan spoiled us with another cooked breakfast of eggs and pancakes on the campsite griddle, and a side of BBQ'd sausages. Yum!! I could get used to this. In fact, I suppose I have. ;)
Ollie and Amelia dragged their camp chairs down to the lakeside together. Pretty cute seeing them tromping through the little path, Amelia lugging her chair like a trooper.
We followed a walking trail to where a creek flowed through a culvert under the highway and into the lake. Ollie and Jonathan ventured through it to the other side. We saw a family of Dall Sheep up on the mountain side across the road. The male came out first and scoped things out... Then went back into the trees and appeared again with the mama and baby in tow. Pretty neat.
Oliver we his kite for a bit when the winds picked up. He and Jonathan went for an exploratory bike ride (Ollie in his life jacket "so people can see him"!) through the campsite to the creek edge and went for a skinny dip! Ollie got the skinny part... But was only brave enough to dip his toes!
Ollie and I made some fun rock people and added the fluffy tuft plants we found for hair. We made some pine cone mice too.
Later in the evening, after dinner, we went for a family boat rode with the motor on and Jonathan dragged his fishing line. Amelia was happy to put her life jacket on and climb in. She settled nicely again resting against my lap and promptly fell asleep. XO. Our camp neighbours, Don and Anne from Mississauga took photos on our camera for us. I regret not bringing it in the boat... Such amazing views.
Kids in bed super late again. Darn this midnight Sun dealio!
Should make it to the Yukon tomorrow!!
