Jonathan made a fantastic cooked breakfast of sausages, pancakes, hash browns...
Then we suited up and rode our bikes the 3km to historic Barkerville!
We enjoyed The water wheel demonstration, and the Theatre Royale performance. Ollie and Amelia both sat watching the show intently and clapping their hands at first. Then Amelia tucked in with her soosee blanket and fell asleep in my lap for the last half of the show. Oliver and daddy went up on stage for a song!
We basically spent the whole day there and enjoyed it all. Ollie panned for gold and got four real gold flakes in his pan. "We're rich!".
Back at the campsite, we met up with Leigh Turner... A family friend of the Tentas from way back. Had a lovely visit over chips and salsa (most of which was eaten by Amelia).
Oliver found a hunk of quartz that he figured was filled with gold and if we smashed it we would find gold inside. I heard him explaining it all to Amelia.
Bedtime routine went a little haywire trying to out both kids down at the same time. Seems like putting them to bed at 10pm when they are exhausted is the best method so far! ;-)
